The Nudge tool is a very buggy tool that allows you to see the map in different nudgers and make minor modifications to it. If you are playing on a computer, where is not available the method described above, you can also run the basic game, checking in a world, and open the control panel, then typing the debug command, which instantly turns the game in debug mode. In Debug mode you get some extra information regarding focuses and ideas, and you can also CTRL+ALT over a province to get province IDs and state IDs.
